About
It all started when…
My fascination with children's imaginations and emotional development propelled me into the world of children's books. As a Child Psychologist, I have been privileged to peek into the fantastic minds of children.
I was chosen, in 2018, as a mentee by the Western Washington branch of the SCBWI. I worked for six months with my mentor, Clare Meeker, to perfect a nonfiction story. In 2019, I completed my Certificate in Writing at the University of Washington. I have worked for Random House, McGraw-Hill, and Worth Publishers, writing ancillary materials (summaries, glossaries, photo captions) for textbooks.
My publications include an article about maternal grief for The Program for Early Parental support (PEPS) Newsletter (Fall 1996). One of my poems appeared in the Winter 2011/Spring 2012 issue of We Need Not Walk Alone.
I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the 12 X 12 Challenge.
